What has been your experience or relationship with FarmFED Co-op to date?


While I have not been directly involved with the formation of the FarmFED Co-op I am a firm believer in the principles of what it is about. I have visited many similar ventures and believe in the concept of connecting local farmers, entrepreneurs and grocers in our community. 


What kind of relevant expertise and background do you have to offer as a potential board member?


I am a board certified chef with a degree from the Culinary Institute at Richland Community College in Decatur Illinois. I have a great deal of experience in commercial kitchens. both in design and day to day supervision and operations.

I currently hold a food managers license with IDPH through Serve Safe.


Have you ever served on a board of directors before, or worked under the supervision of a board of directors? If so, in what capacity?


While I have not served on a board of directors I have had the privilege of working for Archer Daniels Midland in the Media Kitchen which prepared meals and meeting setups for the Presidents, Vice Presidents, visiting dignitaries and Board of directors quarterly meetings. Additionally our department was responsible for monitoring  the day to day operations of 4 very busy cafeterias ensuring all safety and health regulations were being followed through daily inspections.


How able are you to attend monthly meetings in person (in Mt. Pulaski), and how much time do you foresee having to commit to serving on the board?


I would be available to attend monthly meetings and am willing to commit to whatever is needed for the success of this endeavor. 


Is there anything else you’d like to share with the ownership about yourself that you feel is important or relevant to serving on the board?


As an owner I would like to offer soups, sauces, and flavorings prepared the commercial kitchen using locally sourced ingredients. I understand that a locally grown product without all the preservatives and fillers creates a superior product for the community.

I would also like to help others to succeed by offering my expertise and knowledge to anyone who asks. I enjoy working with food and with people and look forward to collaborating with others.
